Editorial Policy How QueryRev Research sources, checks, updates and corrects what it publishes.
Everything QueryRev Research publishes on queryrev.com is built from primary sources, checked against them claim by claim, and approved by an editorial reviewer before it goes live. Pages are signed by the team, not by a person. Each is kept current, re-read on a schedule or updated with the facts it describes, and a mistake is corrected on the page, with a note.

How we research
The sources are chosen before a word is written, so that a page says what they support and nothing more.
The question
We write down the question a page answers and who asks it, and list the primary sources that can answer it before anything is drafted.
The sources, read first
We read those sources in full. A claim we cannot trace to one of them is left out.
Our own measurements
A study’s figures come from public files our own code reads and counts. Its method, its data files and its limits are published with it. Where a study needs a model to read or classify text, its method says so and gives the accuracy we checked by hand.
Experience and examples, labelled
Experience from the practice behind QueryRev is marked as that practice’s, and an illustration with made-up figures is marked “Sample data”. Neither is presented as a measured fact.
Sources
A fact on this site comes from the organisation that owns it, or from data we measured ourselves.
What we cite
- The documentation of the platform itself, such as Google Search Central, Google Analytics Help and each AI crawler’s own page
- Specifications and standards, such as RFC 9309 (the Robots Exclusion Protocol) and llmstxt.org
- Research papers and official statistics
- Public files and data we measured ourselves, with the method published
What we never cite as the source of a fact
- Another SEO blog, agency or tool vendor’s article
- A statistic repeated without its original source
- An answer from an AI chatbot
Where a page lists its sources, it gives each one’s publisher and the day we read it.
Review
Every page passes a fact check and the site’s automated checks, then an editorial review, before it is published. Reviewers are named here by role, not by name.
Every page, before review
Fact check
Each figure, date and quoted rule is compared with its source. A claim without one is removed or rewritten.
Every change to the site
Automated checks
Tests run on every change: each link leads to a live page, examples carry their “Sample data” label, and the words this site does not use are caught before anything is published.
Every page, before it is published
Editorial Lead
An SEO and AI-search practitioner reads each page, checks that it answers its question and that its claims stand on its sources, and approves it. Reference pages, such as glossary entries, are reviewed in batches of about ten. Nothing is published without this approval.
Every study, before it is published
Research Lead
Approves a study’s method and its figures before the study is published.
Updates
A page is updated when what it says is no longer true, and re-read on the schedule its kind of content needs.
| Kind of page | How often |
|---|---|
| Research studies | Re-measured every month on the same panel, with what changed in a change log; a full report each quarter; a re-run within 48 hours of major AI crawler news. |
| Glossary entries | Re-read at least once a year, and sooner when a source they rely on changes. |
| Methodology and company pages | Updated in the same change as the product or the facts they describe. |
Glossary entries and studies show the day they last changed, and every page’s day is in the sitemap. That day moves only when what the page says changes.
Corrections
Anyone can report an error. A source for the correction helps us check it.
Tell us
Write to research@queryrev.com with the address of the page and what is wrong.
We check it
We check the report against the primary source. When the page is wrong, we correct it.
We note the correction
A correction that changes a fact or a figure is noted on the page: what changed, and when. The page’s day of last change moves with it.
Studies keep their change log
A correction to a study is added to its change log. A published figure keeps its anchor: it is corrected in place, never reused for a different figure.
