GEO / AEO

GEO and AEO platform AI search visibility and AI citation tracking, tied to decisions.

QueryRev AI is a platform for generative engine optimization (GEO) and answer engine optimization (AEO). It tracks the questions your buyers ask AI search, records which answers mention your brand and cite your pages, and proposes the changes that earn the citation.

  • AI surfaces

  • Brand mentions

Definitions

Two names for work on the same shift: people now receive answers, not only links. Both are standard industry terms, and each has a full entry in the glossary.

  • Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

GEO is the work of getting your brand and your pages included, cited and described correctly when a generative AI system writes an answer.

  • Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)

AEO is the work of structuring a page so that a search engine or an assistant can lift one passage out of it as the direct answer to one question.

The three share their groundwork. A page that cannot be crawled, states its facts vaguely or buries its answer does badly in all of them, and a page with the wrong search intent fails before any of this matters. That is why QueryRev treats AI search as one more surface of the same loop, not as a separate project.

What QueryRev tracks

An AI answer is not a ranking you can read off a results page. QueryRev keeps each one as data: the prompt, the surface that answered, a snapshot of the answer, the pages it cited and the brands it named, kept over time so that a change can be seen.

  1. Prompt

A question you choose to track, written the way a buyer asks it, and tied to the topics, queries and pages it concerns.

  2. AI Surface

Where the question is asked: for example Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini.

  3. Answer Snapshot

The answer as it was given on a date. Answers vary from run to run, so every snapshot is kept and the trend is read across many.

  4. Citation

A page the answer gives as a source: whether it is one of yours, which page, and which competitors are cited beside it. See AI citation.

  5. Brand Mention

Your brand named in the answer without a link. It is counted apart from citations, because the work that earns each is different.

What it builds on

The Search Console and Analytics 4 sync, the site crawler and the inventory of managed pages: see integrations. Plans are measured in managed URLs, sites and client workspaces, never in tokens or AI credits: see pricing.

What QueryRev proposes

Knowing that a competitor is cited is a report. QueryRev goes one step further: it finds the page of yours that holds the answer, says why it was passed over, and drafts the change.

  • Earn a citation for a prompt

An answer-first passage: the question as the heading, the answer in the first sentence, the detail after it.

  • Close an answer-coverage gap

Questions buyers ask that no page of yours answers: a FAQ section or a new page, proposed with the prompts it would serve.

  • Make the structure readable

Structured data that matches the visible text, and clear entities: which product, which size, which price.

  • Repair a misstatement

When an answer says something wrong about your brand or product, the pages and facts that would put it right.

Every proposal is a typed decision with its evidence and a modeled value range. A person approves, edits or rejects it. Nothing changes on your site outside your policy, and each change is written to the Change Ledger with its before and after state.

Verified, and valued honestly

In QueryRev, done means verified. After a change is published the same prompts are asked again, and the AI-search response is read next to indexing, ranking and click-through.

  • Before and after, on the same prompts

The citation rate after a change is compared with the snapshots before it, over a set window, so one lucky run is not counted as a win.

  • Visits analytics can see are GA4-reported

A visit that arrives from an AI surface and that analytics records is counted and labelled GA4-reported, with the revenue it led to.

  • Visibility without a click is modeled

A citation that sends nobody still has value, but that value is an estimate. It is shown as modeled and never mixed into known revenue.

QueryRev is not a visibility dashboard: AI search visibility is state that feeds decisions, and it is verified after execution like any other search response.

GEO and AEO FAQ

Short answers first. Ask anything else at business@queryrev.com.

What is generative engine optimization (GEO)?

Generative engine optimization is the practice of making a brand and its content more likely to be included, cited and described accurately in answers written by AI systems such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. The aim is a place inside the answer, not only a position in a list of links.

What is answer engine optimization (AEO)?

Answer engine optimization is the practice of structuring content so that a search engine or an AI assistant can extract it as the direct answer to a question: a featured snippet, a People Also Ask result, a voice reply or a passage quoted in an AI answer.

How is GEO different from SEO?

SEO competes for a position in a list of results and is measured in rankings and clicks. GEO competes for a place among the sources of an AI-written answer and is measured in citations and mentions per prompt. The groundwork is shared, which is why QueryRev keeps both in one loop.

How does QueryRev track AI citations?

It asks a fixed set of prompts on each AI surface at regular intervals, keeps a snapshot of every answer, and records whether your brand is mentioned, which of your pages is cited and which competitors are.

Which AI search engines does QueryRev cover?

The model holds any AI surface, for example Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini.

How does a missing citation become work?

It becomes an Earn Citation decision: the page that should be cited, the passage or structured data to change, its evidence and a value range. The change passes your policy like any other, and the answers that follow show whether the page is cited.
